Welcome to Blindfold Drawing Night

When you can’t see what you’re drawing, you stop trying to make it perfect. This night is about laughing together and loosening up creatively.

Before You Begin

  • Best for 3–10 people
  • Set the expectation that the point is fun, not skill
  • Clear a table and protect it if needed

Flow of the Gathering

1. Set Up and Explain (10 minutes)

  • Hand out paper and markers
  • Show the blindfolds and explain the basic idea: draw simple prompts without looking

2. Drawing Rounds (30–45 minutes)

  • Choose prompts like: “a cat,” “a coffee mug,” “a friend’s face,” “a plant”
  • One person reads a prompt; everyone draws blindfolded for 30–60 seconds
  • Remove blindfolds and reveal the drawings together

3. Wrap-Up (10–15 minutes)

  • Invite everyone to pick a favorite drawing from the night
  • Optionally, hang them up for a mini “gallery”

Variations & Ideas

  • Timed challenges: Use shorter or longer drawing times.
  • Guessing game: Try to guess what each drawing was supposed to be.
  • Story edition: Draw scenes from a made-up story as you go.
