Welcome to Your Wander & Notice Walk

This is not an exercise walk or an errand walk. It’s a gentle, open-ended walk where the only job is to notice what’s already around you.

Before You Begin

  • Choose a route you know, or decide to turn right/left at random
  • Plan for 20–60 minutes outside
  • Leave headphones at home if you can

Flow of the Experience

1. Set an Intention (5 minutes)

  • Before you start, choose something to pay attention to: colors, sounds, textures, or signs
  • Take a deep breath and step out the door slowly

2. Walk and Notice (20–40 minutes)

  • Move at a pace that feels unhurried
  • Jot down small observations: a color, a phrase on a sign, a plant you haven’t seen before
  • If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your chosen focus

3. Short Reflection (5–10 minutes)

  • When you get home or reach a rest spot, write a few lines about what you saw
  • Note anything that surprised you or felt comforting

Variations & Ideas

  • Photo version: Take photos of the details that stand out to you.
  • Seasonal series: Repeat the same route in each season and note the changes.
  • Paired walk: Do this with a friend, sharing observations afterward.
