Welcome to Your Morning Pages Session
Morning pages are three-ish pages of unfiltered writing—no editing, no audience, no goal except to empty your head. This kit turns that practice into a stable ritual you can do alone or with a small group.
Before You Begin
- Best done early in the day, but any quiet hour works
- Ideal for solo practice or tiny groups of 2–6
- Let everyone know that what they write is private and never needs to be shared
Flow of the Session
1. Arrive and Settle (5–10 minutes)
- Make tea or water, find a comfortable seat
- Take a few slow breaths together or alone
- Set a gentle timer for 20–30 minutes
2. Write Without Stopping (20–30 minutes)
- Put pen to paper and write whatever comes up: boring, messy, repetitive
- If you get stuck, write “I don’t know what to write” until something shifts
- Try not to reread or edit—just keep moving forward
3. Close Softly (5–10 minutes)
- When the timer ends, finish your sentence and close your notebook
- If in a group, invite a quick check-in: “How did that feel?” (no content sharing)
- Decide whether you’ll meet again and when
Variations & Ideas
- Weekly ritual: Host a group session once a week instead of daily.
- Evening pages: Adapt for “night pages” to wind down before bed.
- Prompt-assisted: Offer a starter line for people who feel stuck.
